WK-C-C01 KOMOREBI (RELAX TAPERED)

$229.00

Inspired by the Japanese concept of Komorebi (木漏れ日)—the interplay of sunlight filtering through leaves—WONGKRATON presents the KOMOREBI 15oz Selvedge Denim. This relaxed tapered cut balances structure and comfort, crafted from premium 15oz selvedge denim that ages gracefully, much like shifting patterns of light and shadow in nature. Designed for denim enthusiasts who value both durability and refined aesthetics, the KOMOREBI offers a versatile staple that develops a unique patina over time, embodying effortless style and timeless craftsmanship.

Rooted in craftsmanship dating back to the 1920s, meticulous details like reinforced stitching, flat felled seam and stamped rivets enhance durability and style, ensuring that these jeans stand the test of time. These jeans are not just garments; they are a tribute to timeless craftsmanship and cultural heritage, inviting you to embark on a journey that transcends generations.

CONSTRUCTION AND SEWING
This sewing technique utilises single stitching machines, reminiscent of the era before jeans were mass-produced in the 1920s. By employing this method, which takes more time compared to modern double stitching, it evokes a vintage charm reminiscent of the American Wild West, the birthplace of jeans. Unlike chain stitching, which commonly leads to fraying due to lower thread aging, this technique ensures durability and longevity, allowing you to enjoy your jeans for years to come.

The wide belt loops are crafted with a three-dimensional design, featuring a shaped and thickened centre for added dimensionality. This design not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also contributes to the beautiful colour fading over time. Each belt loop is meticulously finished by hand for precision and quality assurance.

Piping is applied to the rivets, button flies, and belt parts, is utilised in the garment construction process. This method not only adds structural integrity but also helps prevent fraying of the fabric edges, ensuring durability and longevity of the garment.
